Introducing…
Danai is a new member from Rotterdam. So far, he has contributed two kinds of artwork. First, there’s a number of artful caricatures that sometimes manage to convey the weird impression that the person portrayed is actually an impersonator of the celebrity in question. There are, for example, portraits of Obama (I like the White-Out on his teeth) , Mao and Kim Yong Il. The second batch of cartoons are vignettes that comment on recent computer games. Which I don’t play since I couldn’t handle the stress. If you feel differently about gaming, check out Danai’s take on Splinter Cell Conviction, UFC 2010, Assassin’s Creed II, and Fight Night Round 4.
Cartoons of Interest
After last week’s experiment in form showed some technical flaws that couldn’t be solved without further programming or a new plugin, I will stick with the old layout.
My favorite cartoon this week is Vladimir Stankovic’s illustration about Flying Zombies. Just imagine this would become reality – we’d be doomed for sure. As if the walking dead weren’t bad enough (If you need any further proof, check out the “Zombie Outbreak Simulator”).
Other cartoons I liked include one about Italy’s public image, two of Munguia’s art spoofs, a diary strip about septic tank malfunctions and a portrait of Turkish rapper Ramiz.
Also, Gabriel Fraga finally added some new and amazing vector portraits: (1,2,3). If you haven’t read it yet, here’s an interview we did some time ago.
