So large that here is the second letter!

Marcelo best-known here, on toonpool, for his refreshing sense of humor and cognoscible cartoon style., maybe the only cartoonist that can move both ears at the same time and one at a time. Still, try to get over the ears gymnastics while reading the entire letter:

Father and son having the first talk about solar protection

1. Which movie/TV character you see yourself as and why?

I do not really know what character seems right but my wife said I’m a mixture of Homer with Bart Simpson, I hope it’s not Homer’s belly.

2. What are your New Year’s resolutions?

300DPI! No, my resolution is always to become a better person and professional, always to look for those new challenges and opportunities.

3. What bores you the most?

Blackout in the middle of the work process and bank queue lines!

4. Do you like your place or would you like to live somewhere else?

I love where I live, I’m here next to Sao Paulo but I have the peace of the countryside to concentrate on my work and have a more calm and healthy life.

Kids, don´t try this at home.

The favourite bar is always full

5. What are you able to do that Superman can’t do?

I can move my ears at the same time and separately.

6. If you were sleep walking one night, where would you probably wake up the next day?

I would wake up at the bar with my other friends, cartoonists sleepwalkers.

7. What would you wear to be kicked out from a black tie cocktail party

A pink tie!

8. Tell me the biggest prank you did on a friend.

I was on a beach with some friends, one night and, after a few bottles of Tequila we laid down and slept on the sand. I remembered I left the ventilation on in the room and I told my friend I would go to turn it off. My friend said to bring him a blanket. I just covered him with a towel and left him there all night.

The Neighborhood. On the other side of the screen, the grass is allways greener

The view out the window gives a certain party mood

9. How to ruin your vacation?

It is very hard to ruin my vacation but if I put myself in a bank queue line with a warm beer on a rainy day that may cause serious consequences.

10. If I gave you a giraffe, where would you hide it?

I would put it in a glass at the bottom and three ice cubes and drink with Whisky.

11. What do you do when you see the glass half empty!

I would turn around for another at the table of someone whose glass is fuller.

The secret working techniques are finally revealed

Letter from Sao Paulo http://blog.toonpool.com/interview/letter-from-sao-paulo/ http://blog.toonpool.com/interview/letter-from-sao-paulo/#comments Thu, 10 Feb 2011 14:43:47 +0000 Battlestar http://blog.toonpool.com/?p=6011 For this new issue of Letter from… column, we asked toonpool.com artist Junior Lopes about his life and begged for some photographs of his working place and the city he lives in Sao Paulo, world’s 7th largest metropolitan area.

Junior’s artwork is so amazing that many of us were happy to find the story behind his ideas in the first interview, “Fabric and Fandom”, on toonpool’s blog.

What will you get if you mix cachaça (liquor made from fermented sugarcane) sugar and lime? You will get Brazil’s best known cocktail drink that could make you go to a cocktail party with a giraffe. Read more about it in the following letter:

A reason to wear a hat inside? Keeps the ideas warm!

He is the little one.

1. Which movie/TV character you see yourself as and why?

I love Homer Simpson, and now I have the same belly.

2. What are your New Year’s resolutions?

Stop smoking!

3. What bores you the most?

My short time to do all the things I want to do…

4. Do you like your place or would you like to live somewhere else?

One of my dreams is live one time in Cuba… alone…

5. What are you able to do that Superman can’t do?

Superman can’t do my portraits

"The bar", as Junior and his friends call it, is the perfect place to grab a snak in the center of Sao Paolo

What´s so funny Junior?

Friends

6. If you were sleep walking one night, where would you probably wake up the next day?

At the Zoo, kissing a giraffe.

7. What would you wear to be kicked out from a black tie cocktail party

Probably, after some caipirinhas, naked, with one naked giraffe

8. Tell me the biggest prank you did on a friend.

I married her!

9. How to ruin your vacation?

I’m in permanent vacation… I need a job

10. If I gave you a giraffe, where would you hide it?

I don’t have the psychological conditions to answer more questions about giraffes.

11. What do you do when you see the glass half empty!

Sorry, my funny and intelligent answers gone away.

The characters end up on the "wall of sketches"

You can see a pile of clothes and some ink, but Junior can see a work of art.

There is not much talking without lips.
