Joel Barbee 1935-2010

We are deeply saddened to report that toonpool.com member Joel Barbee (Barbeefish) passed away on Thursday, May 20th, 2010.

Joel was a great artist and an incredibly friendly person. Born and raised in the Southwest, he spent the last few years in San Clemente, California. A long-term member of toonpool.com, he has contributed almost 1,500 cartoons.

We will miss his daily updates, the insights his editorial cartoons have permitted into American politics and – perhaps most of all – the cheerful way he would react to any comments on his cartoons.

Our thoughts are with Joel’s family and friends during this very difficult time.
